Summary: Aiyana never expected that her life would change drastically.
After having a near-death experience and her company being attacked, Aiyana is shocked to wonder who would attack the work place and for what purpose. She found out that some classified chemicals had been stolen from Ihode Labs but despite the warning from the Head of the Company, Aiyana pursues her curiosity even further.
She soon learns that there is an evil brewing, nestled somewhere in Earth. Wanting to stop the threat, Aiyana never expected to do something that would be out of her league.

This was such a fun read, filled with suspense, action, and magic! It was fast-paced and kept my attention the entire time, but I was confused during a lot of that time.
I liked how the writing didn't have long unnecessary descriptions, but at the same time, I really liked the setting of the chemical factories. I don't even know why, but there's just something really cool and interesting about this setting, maybe because I've never read about it before.
Character-wise, I can't really talk about a lot of them because of the spoilers, but I can talk about our main character Aiyana! She's a great main character and I really liked reading about her, even when she did some stupid things. She's so determined to figure things out and very stubborn in pursuing the truth and what's right. Also, she was pretty relatable at some points. What kind of took away from it though, is that even though I enjoyed the fight scenes (especially with the robbers :) ), it felt unrealistic how she suddenly got so good at it.
Overall this was a fun book and I can't wait for the sequel!
