Oook so this something new that I'm going to try out...a double review! I read both of these books quite a long time ago so I don't remember too much only my basic thoughts which is why both reviews are short. And so I thought hmm...they're by the same author so why not put them together?
The Sun is Also a Star
Summary: Natasha: I’m a girl who believes in science and facts. Not fate. Not destiny. Or dreams that will never come true. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls in love with him. Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica. Falling in love with him won’t be my story.
Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations. Never the poet. Or the dreamer. But when I see her, I forget about all that. Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us.
The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment. A million futures lie before us. Which one will come true?
Quotes: “The universe stops and waits for us.”
“love is just chemicals and coincidence.”
My Rating: ⭐⭐
My thoughts: I know a lot of people really loved this and I guess it was an ok sort of cute fun read, but personally, I didn't like it enough to give it higher than 2 stars. I found it highly unlikely that this entire novel happened in one day and it was kind of really annoying how they were trying to make excuses for why they fell in love in literally 24 hours!! I couldn't connect with the characters and the dialogue was just SO SO SWEET like maybe I would get a cavity just from reading it. I read this a long time ago, so I don't remember too much but I feel like I should explain why I gave this such a low rating.
The main thing I did like about it though, was the diversity of the two main characters.

2. Everything, Everything
Summary: My disease is as rare as it is famous. It’s a form of Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, but basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in fifteen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.
But then one day, a moving truck arrives. New next door neighbors. I look out the window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black t-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly. I want to learn everything about him, and I do. I learn that he is funny and fierce. I learn that his eyes are Atlantic Ocean-blue and that his vice is stealing silverware. I learn that when I talk to him, my whole world opens up, and I feel myself starting to change—starting to want things. To want out of my bubble. To want everything, everything the world has to offer.
Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.
Quotes:
“I've read many more books than you. It doesn't matter how many you've read. I've read more. Believe me.” (Ok there are sooo many more meaningful quotes I could have chosen but I chose this one cause I like it for some random reason.)
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐
My thoughts: I liked this more than The Sun is Also a Star partly because of the general idea and partly because of the writing style. I loved the short chapters, fun dialogue, and cute illustrations which made the boo a lot more fun to read. I'm a bit mixed on the characters cause I found them ok and kind of interesting, but not really all that complex. The main reason I didn't give it a high rating is THAT ENDING and I guess the whole second half of the book, but I won't tell you anymore cause you have to read it to find out!
Ok just kidding, I will say more, but only read it if you've already read the book!
SPOILER
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK
Ok here's what I have to say. THAT MOM IS CRAZY!!! She is so crazy that she ruined her daughter's life and it made me want to throw the book on the floor and then scream to everyone about how terrible it is. Not because I cared about the character(I didn't really) but because it is just SO MESSED UP!!! Really though, I was enjoying the first half of the book until that happened and now I have mixed feelings on this.

So there's my first double review! Thanks for reading!
